My Best Friend provides safe, secure and fun home boarding at our family home and through a network of carefully selected carers.

Unlike boarding kennels, your best friend really does become one of the family when in the care of My Best Friend.

Our flexible service enables you to do whatever you want whenever you want to do it and we promise that your best friend will never be left in a kennel!

My Best Friend are very careful when it comes to choosing carers, they all undego an indepth interview at their home to make sure they're suitable.

Above all else our carers are certified dog lovers!

How it works

Braith had an awesome weekend with Jo as she is now snoring in her bed, thank you and will be back and would defiantly recommend.
- Alex Ferguson

Cooper just home and asleep from a few days at magnolia cottage. Thanks for taking good care of him.

Poppy adores Jon and Clara and loves being picked up by them in her special taxi.
At just over a year old she loves to play and always comes home having had a wonderful time. She's a regular now with day care and has spent some nights there too. We have every faith in Jon and Clara as she is looked after so well, as if she were their own dog.
Today she had her first groom with Clara and has come home looking beautiful and clean, which is remarkable with the lifestyle she has of getting as wet and dirty as she possibly can.
I cannot rate them highly enough. They are like Poppy's Super Nannies.
We would have no worries leaving Poppy with them if we went away on holiday and we are so happy that we've found them. Thank you. And high five from Poppy.
- Pippa Shay

We were really pleased with the service as they looked after him while we were at the Fairford Air Tattoo as we were camping & could not leave him in the van. Would definitely recommend & will use again if we need to next year. Just wish we they were closed to Cornwall!!
- Angie Layzell

Brilliant very caring proprietors . We are so glad they have this nearby as we can leave our naughty Labrador in safe hands when we are away.
When we come home our lab is groomed and happy and so are we!
No more worrying how she is and we can enjoy our holidays.
Very professional service.
And highly recommend.
- Mark Taylor

Friendly and professional service. Archie pulls me up the driveway when we get there and doesn't want to come home.

Can I visit where my dog will be staying?

Yes. We strongly encourage a pre-board meeting at the Carers home prior to any stay and in fact this is a requirement if the carer has a resident dog. These can be arranged at a time convenient for you.

I don’t have a car, so are you able to provide transport?

Yes, we can arrange transport for an extra charge. Please give us a call and we can give you a quote.

How do you know about my dogs’ personality habits and routines?

Before we confirm any booking we go through a very detailed face to face consultation so we can find out all about him to make sure that we can find the ideal Carer and make his stay as stress free as possible.

How many walks will my dog get each day?

We follow your dogs’ routines as much as possible so if they have 3 hour walks a day that’s what we try to do!

Do you walk my dog on or off lead?

This is up to you but we will ask for your specific consent to walk you dog off the lead although this is certainly our preference. We believe that your dog will get far more out of a walk if he is able to run and play with the other dogs in the pack. Regardless of consent we only let dogs off lead where we believe it is safe and sensible to do so.

My dog requires medication for a health condition. Can this be administered?

Basic medication can be administered. We would need detailed instructions on any specific medical conditions and on correct administration. We are happy to discuss any requirements your dog may have and generally most needs can be met.

Are you insured and licenced?

We are fully insured in case of anything happening to your dog due to our negligence. We are also licenced by the relevant council if required.

What do I need to provide for my dog?

He will need to come with his bed and clean bedding, food and water bowls, lead and harness (if used) toys and his favourite treats.

Can you accommodate puppies?

Yes we can but we do charge a little extra for dogs under 6 months old.

How do I know if my dog is having a good time?

We send you regular “pup dates” throughout his stay to you can see that he’s having a better time than you!

Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.
