Your best friend can be collected in the morning, entertained for the day and returned to you happy, relaxed and exercised ready for a quiet evening at home. If it’s more convenient, then you can drop off between 8 am and 9 am and collect by 6 pm.
Dogs should not be left for more than 4 hours (puppies 1 – 2 hours) as they can become stressed and destructive. My Best Friend day care is a great way to ensure your dog remains happy and stress free in your absence.
It’s also a great way to introduce puppies to a variety of playmates and help with their general socialisation.
At My Best Friend we take a great deal of time care assessing each dog because day care is not for everyone. We have a limited number of spaces and take great care to ensure that they are sociable, relaxed and above all not show any signs of aggression.
How it works
- Initial consultation for us to get to know you and your best friend and ensure they’re suited to My Best Friend’s doggy day care.
- Provide a caring and safe environment.
- Take your best friend on 2 country walks with each full session.
Yes, most of our clients work full time. We hold the keys to our clients’ homes and for a small charge can collect/deliver dogs when they are not there.
Sending your puppy to a doggy day care is the best thing you can do for it! Your pup will socialise from the very young age and learn “how to be a dog”. There is no minimum age to attend our day care, however puppy has to be fully vaccinated before being allowed in.
We can collect your dog by prior arrangement and for a small charge between 830am and 10am. Your dog will usually go on their first walk of the day before heading back to the day care location. They will have play with the other dogs and will also be encouraged to have some down time before being taken on their second walk of the day. Drop off times start from 430 or you can collect at a pre-agreed time.
We are fully insured in case of anything happening to your dog or property due to our negligence. We are also licenced by the relevant council if required.
ALL OF THEM. Big ones, small ones, young ones, old ones… We look after and love them all. The only condition is that they get on with other dogs.
Unfortunately not. We cannot take dogs that are aggressive with other dogs or people or even very nervous dogs as the environment can be too much for them. Don’t worry, we complete a doggy interview prior to any dog being accepted to make sure that day care is right for them.
This really depends on the location but all of our day care is at our home or the homes of our franchisees or carers and is usually limited to a maximum of 4 dogs at any time.
Yes, they will go on at least 2 country walks each time they come for day care. Read out walking FAQs to find out more about our wonderful walks.
This is up to you but we will ask for your specific consent to walk your dog off the lead although this is certainly our preference. We believe that your dog will get far more out of a walk if he is able to run and play with the other dogs in the pack. Regardless of consent we only let dogs off lead where we believe it is safe and sensible to do so.

“We can’t recommend My Best Friend enough. They have been taking care of our very special Eddie at day care – he is only a puppy but he has such fun and loves going with Jon or Clara when they come to pick him up. I wouldn’t let my dog go to anyone else! Many thanks to Jon and Clara for taking such good care of all the dogs you look after.”

“Really pleased to have found Clara and Jon at “My Best Friend” – they took care to find out all about my dogs and their needs & routine. I feel they are both expert doggy lovers who clearly make their guests feel very much at home. My dogs returned happy, exercised and loved. One of my dogs was groomed during his stay and I was delighted with the result. I am happy to highly recommend “My Best Friend”.”

“After being recommended by a neighbour myself, I would highly recommend My Best Friend as the quality of service is astounding. Tamar started at 4 months old with toilet breaks, little walks, longer walks and now Doggy Day Care at 7 months – she loves her time with Jon, Clara and Jo, and she always comes home eager to tell me of her adventures and the friends she has made, before curling up in a content little ball!”
