Our Service – Doggy Day Care
With our doggy day care service your best friend can be collected in the morning and entertained for the day. He is returned to you happy, relaxed and exercised ready for a quiet evening at home. If it’s more convenient, then you can drop off in the morning and collect in the afternoon.
Dogs should not be left for more than 4 hours (puppies 1 – 2 hours) as they can become stressed and destructive. My Best Friend doggy day care is a great way to ensure your dog remains happy and stress free.
Doggy day care is a great way to introduce puppies to a variety of playmates and help with their socialisation.
At My Best Friend we take a great deal of time care assessing each dog. Doggy day care is not for everyone. We have a limited number of spaces and take great care to ensure that they are sociable and relaxed. Above all dogs must not show any signs of aggression.

FAQs
I start work early and don’t come back home until the evening, can I use your services?
Yes, most of our clients work full time so we hold the keys to our clients’ homes. For a small charge can collect and deliver dogs when they are not there.
My puppy is very small, is there a minimum age that you accept at doggy day care?
Sending your puppy to a doggy day care is the best thing you can do for it! Your pup will socialise from the very young age and learn “how to be a dog”. There is no minimum age to attend our day care, however puppy has to be fully vaccinated.
What does doggy day care day look like?
We can collect your dog by prior arrangement and for a small charge between 830am and 10am. Your dog will usually go on their first walk of the day before heading back to the day care location. They will have play time, 2 walks and some down time too. Drop off times start from 430 or you can collect at a pre-agreed time.
Are you insured and licensed?
We are fully insured in case of anything happening to your dog or property due to our negligence. We are also licenced by the relevant council if required.
What sorts of dogs do you look after?
ALL OF THEM. Big ones, small ones, young ones, and old ones. We look after and love them all.
Is your day care suitable for everyone?
Unfortunately not. We cannot take dogs that are aggressive or even very nervous dogs as the environment can be too much for them. Don’t worry, we complete a doggy interview prior to any dog being accepted to make sure that doggy day care is right for them.
How many dogs you look after?
This really depends on the location but all of our doggy day care is home based. The numbers are usually limited to a maximum of 4 dogs at any time.
Will my dog get a walk?
Yes, they will go on at least 2 country walks each time they come for day care. Read our walking FAQs to find out more about our wonderful walks.
Do you walk my dog on or off lead?
This is up to you but we will ask for your specific consent to walk your dog off the lead although this is certainly our preference. We believe that your dog will get far more out of a walk if he is able to run and play with the other dogs in the pack. Regardless of consent we only let dogs off lead where we believe it is safe and sensible to do so.
