When we decided to join My Best Friend after the loss of our 12yr old westie, Poppy but I never envisaged the joy of having so many different breeds and characters. Just like having our grandchildren we can spoil them and hand them back!

We joined My Best Friend as Carers after seeing Heather and Simon having all of these wonderful dogs to stay and after the loss of our 13 year old Collie we really missed having a dog in the home.

We chose to become Carers for My Best Friend to help find some doggy company for our Sheltie, Ash. Since starting in 2017 Ash has made lots of new friends and its great when they come back to visit again!

They both grew up with dogs and have always enjoyed their company. They are not able to commit on a full-time basis to a dog, so this is the very next best thing, looking after someone else’s pet on a flexible basis.

They say its great having the patter of paws around the house again and of course the tummy rubs and welly walks that all dogs just love!

They have a great garden for the dogs they care for to romp around in and love taking them for long walks.

Guy & Sue moved to Carterton from Didcot in 2014. They had a Jack Russell which sadly died after a mouth tumour and miss her terribly so decided to care for dogs whilst they wait until they retire, when they’ll definitely have another dog.
