The Burford and Swinbrook dog walk is bit longer than some of our walks and is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. If you have the time, take in the shops, sights and eateries of Burford.
Start:
Park anywhere on The Hill (the main road through Burford) but ideally towards the bottom if possible. Head down The Hill walking on the right hand side of the road. Continue across the Medieval bridge and bear right at the roundabout.
Waypoint 1:
Walk past Walnut Row and take the footpath immediately after Cotland House. Turn left and continue along the path, through the next field keeping to the left hand side.

Waypoint 2:
Come to a style, which you may need to lift your dog over, and continue along the path and then turn left onto a lane. Continue until you reach the main road.
Waypoint 3:
Turn right onto the main road and walk through the village of Fulbrook heading out towards Shipton Under Wychwood. Just as you leave the village and the road starts climb take the foot path on your right. Take care as the pavement is narrow and in parts not more than a grass verge.
Waypoint 4:
Through the gate and keep to the foot path which follows a natural valley through the field. Head through the hedge at the top and though 2 more until you reach some woods.
Waypoint 5:
Turn right into the woods and follow the track down hill. Come out of the woods and keep to the track past a pair of farmers cottages on your right. Walk past Pains Farm and almost immediately turn right up a steep stony path
Waypoint 6:
Continue on this path, through 2 gates, until you come to a road.
Waypoint 7:
Turn right and continue until you see a foot path on your left between two small woods. Continue over a style and then head diagonally right towards a stone wall with a cattle grid and stone style.
Waypoint 8:
Cross the cattle grid, and continue to the next gate, turn left onto a small road which will take you over a stone bridge across the river Windrush. Turn right onto the main road and follow for about 200 metres until you see a footpath off to the right.
Waypoint 9:
Follow the path through a number of fields and styles until you reach a road. Turn right onto the road which will take you back to The Hill in Burford.
We hope you enjoy The Burford and Swinbrook Dog Walk
