FAQs
Do you come and meet me and my dog to get to know us before you start to provide walks?
Yes of course, in fact we simply don’t walk any dog before we have met them and had a detailed consultation with the owner.
Do I have to leave you a key or wait in for you to arrive?
You can wait in you prefer but we offer a secure key holding service. All keys are kept locked away when not in use and we keep a numbered log so the key cannot be traced back to your home.
How can I be confident that you or your dog walker is trustworthy?
All franchisees and employees who have unescorted access to a client’s home will have undergone a basic DBS check. We can also provide references from some of our many happy customers.
Will my dog be walked by the same person?
We think that building up trust between the dog and their walker is really important so we always try to be consistent. In the event that we need to change the person walking your dog we will always let you know. What’s more that person will always have walked your dog with their usual walker.
What time will you arrive to take my dog for their walk?
We offer 3 walking sessions, you can either book between 9am and 11am, 11am and 2pm or 2pm and 5pm. We don’t offer specific times but we do guarantee to take your best friend for walk in the booked session.
How do you transport my dog from our home to where you walk?
Unlike many dog care and dog walking companies we operate a fleet of air conditioned vans that are never more than 7 years old and have safe and secure dog cages installed. The cages become an integral part of the vehicle and are constructed to an exceptionally high standard. Each dog, unless they are from the same household or are well known to each other, will be transported in their own cage.
How many dogs do you walk at one time?
This really depends on a number of factors such as the temperament, obedience, and location of the dogs and also the location of the walk however, it will never be more than 6 but more usually between 3 and 5.
Where do you walk the dogs?
This varies by location but we aim to find walks that are in locations away from main roads and other hazards. We like open spaces and calm water so they can run and swim and swim and run to their hearts content!
Do you walk my dog on or off lead?
This is up to you but we will ask for your specific consent to walk you dog off the lead although this is certainly our preference. We believe that your dog will get far more out of a walk if he is able to run and play with the other dogs in the pack. Regardless of consent we only let dogs off lead where we believe it is safe and sensible to do so.
How long are the walks?
Each walk is a minimum of 45 minutes but your dog will generally be out of the house from 1 to 2 hours.
