Chester Meadows Dog Walk
Chester Meadows are a patchwork of grassland and wetlands by the sides of Chester’s River Dee.
Situated in the heart of Chester City Centre this walk is suitable for users with pushchairs and wheelchairs.
It is reasonably level; however due to the purposely un-managed nature of the site there are no sealed routes across the site.
There is no official parking at Chester Meadows.
There are four pedestrian access points; one along the footpath by the Suspension Bridge, another from Bottoms Lane, one from the land opposite the sailing club and the main entrance through Lower Park Road

Head through this gate and follow the trodden path to the river, you will pass through sections of open fields.
Waypoint 2:
Once you arrive at the river turn to the left and follow this path along the river for about 650meters, you will walk through the same sections of fields again but on the other side, you will come to a small wooden path for one of the sections and then a gate to the main site.
Waypoint 3:
When you have passed through this gate follow the gravel pathway in front of you, along the river and follow the path all the way round to the left until you see the entrance to the site the footpath from the Suspension Bridge in front of you.
Waypoint 4:
At this point, don’t go through this entrance but follow the path, this part is a trodden pathway, to the left until you reach the bottom of the main entrance.

Head to your left and follow the gravel path heading back towards the river, you will pass through some bushes and a mound on your left. You will end up back on the same pathway you were on before with the river now on your left. Now follow the path along the river and follow it round to the right, hedges on your left and pass through a gate and back up to Bottoms Lane.
