Abbotts Ann Down Dog Walk

Abbotts Ann Down is a small hamlet approximately 3 miles South West of Andover in Hampshire. Abbotts Ann Down is close to the village of Abbotts Ann which is home to 2 pubs for either post or pre-walk refreshments.

The Eagle Public House is in the centre of the village and is well known for it’s wide selection of real ales.

Alternatively the Poplar Farm Inn is located just outside the village and offers a wide variety of food and drink. It also has a good selection of  vegan options!

Starting in Abbotts Ann Down

Waypoint 1

At the end of Abbotts Ann Down there is a 5 bar gate on the right hand side marked with a wooded footpath sign, go through this and walk for 130m you will see the footpath between the two farm fields with a row of trees in front of you.

Waypoint 2

Turning left walk along the tree line for 400m to the corner of the field and turn right and walk another 400m, turn left following the footpath sign.

Waypoint 3

Turn Left and walk 300m then turn right and walk 390m down to a farm building with a farm track running next to it.

Waypoint 4

Take a right turn following the farm track past field and a bungalow on your left for 800m.

Waypoint 5

When you reach the footpath sign turn right walking back up the hill towards trees for 270m.

Waypoint 6

Then turn right again in between the trees and follow the track for 450m until you reach a farm field.

Waypoint 7

Follow the footpath back an almost straight line 1.1 km until you reach the second gap in the trees and you will be able to see the five-bar gate again.
