The Charlbury and Wychwood Dog Walk is one of our longest walks and is a wonderful way to spend a good 3 hours over a weekend.
Start
Park in Charlbury as near to the church as you are able to.
Waypoint 1
From the Church walk uphill and turn left onto the Chipping Norton Rd and then left again down Dyers Hill. Cross the River Evenlode and the railway line.
Waypoint 2
After a short distance turn right onto a tarmac drive (Oxfordshire Way) passing cottages on the right hand side. Continue along the bridleway for about 1 mile and then through a gate and turn left onto a lane.
Waypoint 3
Walk uphill and cross the B4437 taking care as this is a busy road. Keep straight until you join a lane and then bear right.

Waypoint 4
Turn left opposite Waterman’s Lodge following the waymarked circular walk signs
Waypoint 5
Cross a stile and keep walking following the waymakred signs. When you join a track there are various routes which are marked private so do take care to keep to the marked route through some woodland. Continue over fields until you reach some old cottages.
Waypoint 6
Turn left onto the road and continue downhill. Take care here as this is a fast road and there is only pavement for a short stretch. Take the first footpath off to the left over a stone stile. Smaller dogs may need some help here.
Waypoint 7
Walk over a garden area sticking to the path and keep to the right on the barn through the metal gate. Keep going towards the parkland of Cornbury Park.
Waypoint 8
Cross the track and bear right down to Park Farm through the avenue of trees. With the lake on the left cross the end of the lake and through the gate.
Waypoint 9
Keep going through a small gate and walk along a marked path by the boundary to the park. You will see a pair of lodges, keep straight ahead through a door and turn right onto the drive to leave Cornbury Park.
Waypoint 10
Cross the River Evenlode and turn left onto the road which will take you back to Charlbury.
