Countess of Chester Country Park
The park was once a landfill site and used for agriculture but is now a nature reserve situated behind the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Countess of Chester Country Park is one of my favourite parks as there is plenty to see and do here.
The tarmac pathways are great for wheelchairs even though you may find the gradient tough going in a couple of places. There is also a fallen for the fallen poppy trail that you can follow.
There is a car park at the entrance, at weekends the car park can be full but there are alternative parking. Please check the web link for more details and park opening times. WEB-LINK

Start:
The walk starts and finishes at the country park car park off Countess Way/Countess Court CH1 4ED. The walk follows hard-surfaced and grass paths through woodlands and fields.
Way Point 1:
Head out of the car park towards the park noticeboard. Turn left here and head towards the eagle sculpture. Proceed to the ring of benches and turn right towards the Countess Way bridge. Before reaching the park exit here, take a sharp turn right and follow Finchetts Gutter.
Way Point 2:
Bear left at the next path junction, following the lower path past the wetlands, towards the end of this section there is a slight hill and you will come to a crossroad.
Way Point 3:
At the crossroad you will see a gate to your left leading onto a meadow, head through here and follow the well trampled path to the tarmac path ahead. Once you reach this pathway walk across it onto the other side and bear to the right following the trampled pathway again. Carry on until you see an entrance with gates further up ahead on your right. At these gates turn right and follow the tarmac pathway through the crossroads you came to before until you come to a fork.
Way Point 4:
Take the left-hand fork to follow the higher path that meets the road (Valley Drive) next to St John Ambulance. Turn right here and follow the pavement down to the car park entrance where the walk started.
