Tidworth Dog Walk

Tidworth Dog Walk, Warren Hill

This is a very picturesque and scenic route with terrific views all the way. Warren Hill overlooks Tidworth Barracks and all the surrounding countryside as far as you can see.

At Tidworth turn right (or left depending your direction) into station road. Follow for about 1.5miles until you reach Perham Down, turn right into Benin road, go past houses and turn left after approx 500 yds immediately after a red brick shed partly hidden by trees. A little further in you will see the parking on grass on the left.

Once parked in the layby just off of the road there is a steep incline to begin with but this becomes more gradual the further up you go.

As this is an MOD site the main path way is quite wide, level and solid if you follow this around it is a total of a 6 mile walk.

Off of the main path ways are muddier tracks through woodland these prove useful if you don’t want to walk back the same route as you started, this also provides a variety of routes and challenges, you will need better footwear or wellies for some of these routes however.

This is a very popular route at weekends and we met lots of other dogs with their owners. As you can see from the pictures my dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The Tidworth Dog Walk is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon and Tidworth town offers a variety of dog friendly pubs and cafes for post walk refreshments.
