5 Star Dog Boarding in the Cotswolds

My Best Friend Dog Care West Oxfordshire provides licenced home boarding across the South and East Cotswolds. We cover Lechlade, Fairford, Burford, Carterton, Stow-on-the-Wold and all of the surrounding villages. We have a variety of wonderful dog carers so can always find the ideal match for your best friend.

Our longest standing dog carers are Sue and Guy Mainard who live in Carterton. They have just been awarded a 5 Star Boarding Licence by West Oxfordshire District Council. It’s not easy to get the highest rated licence so this is a real achievement. Sue and Guy are both retired so can dedicate all of their time to your dog when he goes to stay. As life long dog lovers they just love having a wet nose and waggy tail around the house.

When dogs go to stay Sue and Guy really do make them feel like part of the family. Over the summer they actually took one of their regular boarders on holiday to Dorset. (with the owners consent of course) Cooper had a fun filled week playing on the beach and meeting lots of new doggy friends.

Before any dogs board with Sue and Guy I come and meet you and find out all about your best friend. This gives me the opportunity to understand you dog’s habits and routines, likes and dislikes so we can make his stay as relaxed as possible. We always try to follow your house rules as well. Sue and Guy always take their visitors on 2 good dog walks a day or as otherwise requested by you.

Once we have completed this assessment Sue and Guy will be in touch to arrange a time for you and your dog to go and visit ahead of his stay. We call this a familiarisation visit and think it’s a very important part of our process. It gives you the opportunity to see where dog will be staying and for him to get used to the new sights, sounds and smells.
