Dog Walking Service in Kirkham

As a professional dog walker I have completed a recognised Dog Care Diploma and will collect your best best friend in my Air-conditioned van which is fitted with safe and secure cages.

This blog is all about a wonderful Labrador named Purdy who I walk on a regular basis.

I walk Purdy 3 times a week and she loves travelling in the van to her favourite walking locations such as Worden Park, Shaw Wood and Hurst Grange Park. Being a Labrador the one thing Purdy loves the most is the water, whenever we go up to Shaw Wood she will spend most of the time in the water having a swim and she loves every second of it which sometimes makes it difficult to get her out. She also loves playing fetch and having a good run round the fields where she meets lots of new friends.

So why do Labradors love water so much?

Labradors were originally bred as working dogs due to their ability to work quietly alongside hunters. They would watch for birds to fall from the sky, marking where they land, and then using their outstanding nose to find and retrieve dead or wounded birds both on land and in water. This is also why they are known as “Retrievers”

They were originally bred in the 1830s by the 10^th Earl of Home and imported from Newfoundland

They are a favourite disability assistance breed acting as guide dogs or therapy dogs due to their high level of intelligence.

They come in 3 recognised colours – Black, Yellow and Chocolate

Life Span:            10 – 14 years

Weight:                25 – 36 kgs

Temperament:   Kind, Outgoing, Agile, Gentle, Inteligent
