Essex has a wide variety places to walk your dog but here are our 4 favourite Christmas dog walks near Chigwell.
Hylands Park Dog Walk
The Hylands Estate is a grade 2 listed building dating back to 1730. Situated in over 500 acres of classical English park land this is a great place to walk your dog. There are 5 mapped walks to chose from starting with a 30 minute stroll all the way up to a 4 mile hike. Choose either the Repton, Lower Estate, Pleasure Garden, Estate Boundary or Jubilee Walk. There are way-markers on the estate showing the route for each of the walks. There is also an Adventure Castle for the kids to play on and cafe for post walk refreshments. Gates open from 730 daily. To get there use CM2 8FS.
Langdon Hills Country Park Dog Walk
Langdon Hills County Park is managed by Essex Wildlife Trust. Situated in 460 acres of meadows, parkland and lakes the park is one of the highest points around and gives you commanding views of the county. Opening times – Open daily 9am – 5pm (November, December & January 9am – 4pm) Closed Christmas Day & Boxing Day
Please note at time on writing (21.12.19) that the visitor centre at Langdon isclosed whilst the centre is rebuilt.
Weald Country Park
Weald County Park is located just to the West of Brentwood and situated in 500 acreas of Parkland. There’s lots to see and do at the park including the much loved Stick Man Trail which covers a mile of the park taking you past the deer enclosure, the lake and the grazing area. There is a also a shop, cafe, play area and dogs are of course welcome around thew park but must be kept under close control around live stock and game. There is a charge for parking and opening times are from 8am to dusk. and for your sat nav use CM14 5QS.
Chigwell Dog Walk
This walk takes about 1.5 hours and covers roughly 3 miles. It can get muddy over the winter months and there is small amount to road walking so so take care with your dog.
