Before I started my own My Best Friend Dog Care Franchise I often wondered what it would be like to be a Freckleton Dog Walker. I imagined that it would be fun, rewarding and a great thing to do and I’m happy to say I was right.
Here’s what I got up to during just one week in March…
Walking Sasha a super Springer Spaniel
Sasha is a very friendly Springer Spaniel who is from Freckleton on the Fylde Coast. Sasha gets on with all the dogs I walk and has brilliant recall, so she is perfect for off lead group walks. We regularly go on walk around Freckleton, Warton, Kirkham and Lytham Saint Anne’s with her favourite walk being Fairhaven Lake in Lytham Saint Anne’s. Sasha loves walking with Gary the Labrador and will chase after him for most of the walk and she also likes going for a paddle whenever the opportunity arises.

Gary is a friendly giant and full of energy so he will chase after the ball consistently throughout the walk. Gary is a black Labrador from Freckleton and regularly goes on walks with Sasha and Blue around Freckleton, Kirkham, Warton and Lytham Saint Anne’s. Gary loves water and will dive in to the muddiest of puddles whenever he see’s one so I always make sure to have extra towels to hand every time I walk him.
Puppy visits with Boomer, a lively Labradoodle puppy.
As a professional dog walker I know how easy it is to over exercise a puppy. That’s why we offer a bespoke puppy care service for our younger doggy clients. For dogs under 8 months I will provide a 1-2-1 service which includes toilet breaks, fun and games in the garden and a short walk. This helps ensure that the young dogs in my care do not over work their joints which are not fully fused until they reach adolescence.
Boomer is a very cute 12 week old Labradoodle who also resides in Freckleton on the Fylde Coast. I visit Boomer a few times a month when his owners are away and I will always jump at the chance to spend time with this pup. His favourite toy is his green snake and will chase me around the garden trying to get it and he also enjoys playing with his tennis balls. Hopefully when Boomer gets older he will be able to join the group for the longer walks as I’m confident he’ll become a good addition to the group.
