It’s that time of year when we all look forward to time away from work to spend with our beloved dogs. With lots of time to spare and hopefully some clement weather to go along with it the question is what should we do and where should we go?
To help you plan we thought we would share the best places to walk your dog in Chester this Christmas.
For those of you that are regular visitors to our blog you will already have seen three great dog walks around Chester.
Countess of Chester Country Park Dog Walk
However, Chester is such a dog friendly City there is so much more to do and see with your best friend in tow. Here’s our guide to the best places to walk your dog in Chester this Christmas.
Chester Sightseeing Circular Route
This is a three mile walk that is best taken at a gentle stroll so you can take in all of the sights. The route takes in Chester Racecourse, Grosvenor Bridge, the ancient Old Dee Bridge, the Weir on the Dee and the old City Walls.
Chester and The River Dee Dog Walk
We love walking beside water and our dogs love it too however we do ask you to be careful to keep your dogs out of the water when the river is high. This walk takes you under the The Old Dee Bridge with it’s three arches built in the sandstone that is characteristic of Chester. This crossing point dates back to Roman times so it’s easy to imagine generations of people, tradesmen, townsfolk and armies crossing it here through the ages.
Caldy Valley Nature Park Dog Walk
Caldy Valley Nature Park is situated about 1 mile South West of Chester City Centre. Although it’s an easy walk from Chester proper there is a care park off Caldy Valley Road. For sat nav reference the postcode is CH3 5PR. The nature park is an area of wetland and woodland which is ideal for a good 2 mile walk to work off some of the Christmas excesses.
We hope you enjoy trying out some of these great dog walks with Christmas. If you do why not tell us about how you got on. It’s quick and easy to leave a review here.
