The Best Places to Walk Your Dog in Fylde
As a professional dog walker in and around Fylde I get to see some of the hidden gems of the area. For those of you that visit regularly (the website that is, not Fylde) you will know that I have mapped a few of my favourite dog walks.

Over the festive period I took the opportunity to explore the area and sniff out the best places to walk your dog in Fylde. Here’s what I found…
Witchwood Dog Walk
Witchwood is situated just outside Lytham St Annes and is managed by the Lytham St Annes Civic Society. For sat nav use Bridge Rd, Lytham St Annes, FY8 4EQ. These woods are a site of special scientific interest and are protected by a number of tree preservation orders (TPOs). The site is named after the favourite horse of the Clifton family who died in 1888 and is buried on the site. Look hard and you can still find the headstone. There are a good number of hard paths that criss cross the woods so plenty of sights and smells for you and your best friend to enjoy.
Stanley Park Dog Walk, Blackpool
Stanley Park opened in 1926 at the height of the resorts success and now Grade II listed. It covers 390 acres and offers unrivalled architecture, gardens and recreation. There is boating lake, pagoda and a selection of gardens including the famous Rose and Remembrance Garden. The park is open 365 days a year between 9 and 5pm but we would advise checking before your visit. Click on the link to visit the Stanley Park website.
Dog Walks on Lytham St Annes Beach
As with the majority of UK beaches there are restrictions on when and where you can walk you dog. For the amenity beach at Lytham St Annes these start on 1st of May and are in place until the 30th of September. This section is between the northern end of North Promenade car-park and the slipway for St Annes Lifeboat Station opposite Eastbank Road.Off lead dog walking is permitted outside of this small area and you can enjoy a large area of un-spoilt beach stretching towards Squires Gate one way and Lytham Quays in the other.
